Dr. Fullmer uses a variety of proven chiropractic methods and techniques to provide individual care. His two main techniques used at Advanced Spine & Health Center are DT and the Activator Method.
Diversified technique (DT) is what most people imagine when they think of chiropractic treatment, and it is the most commonly used adjustment technique by chiropractors. Diversified technique is characterized by a quick and forceful, but small, thrust or twist of the patient's neck or spine by the chiropractor. DT's objective is to restore proper movement and alignment of the spine and joints.
The Activator Method is an alternative method to manual manipulation, and uses a tool created by Dr. Arlan W. Fuhr, that looks like a doorstop or a small plunger. The device is generally regarded as a low-force chiropractic treatment technique because it does not have the intensity of pressure or the popping sounds that accompany the diversified technique. It is especially helpful for sensitive areas, such as the jaw or arm, and for patients who are more frail.
Additional therapies
ASHC employs additional therapies that help relax overstimulated muscles and/or stretch muscles to hold the new position of the adjusted spine. These therapies include ultrasound, electrical stimulation, water massage beds, roller beds, and massage therapy.
